The Zoo Society

Being based in Tacoma, Mountains Out Media is always trying to work with local businesses and organizations to help build up our local industry and bring more awareness to all the amazing things Tacoma has to offer. When we received a call from The Zoo Society asking if we’d be interested in making a video about their work, the answer was obvious. The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is a cornerstone of Tacoma’s community. As the nonprofit fundraising partner of Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, The Zoo Society helps turn community passion into action. 

The goal of our partnership with The Zoo Society was to create a video that would help explain their role in the Zoo’s ecosystem and to help drive more financial contributions so that they could in turn help in aiding the growth and sustainability of one of our region’s greatest treasures. Mountains Out started by interviewing a variety of different staff who could speak to the importance of The Zoo Society. We then spent a full day visiting different habitats within the zoo to showcase some of the things that The Zoo Society help provide like the daily animal enrichments, important veterinary procedures and the newest addition to the zoo, The Tropical Reef Aquarium.
